Meet Ann
My work is a process of layering, excavating, and revealing—each piece a meditation on color, form, and movement. I start with broad, intuitive strokes and let the painting evolve through countless transformations, balancing instinct with intention. I want my work to feel alive, with traces of every stage still present beneath the surface. That’s where the magic happens.
I’ve always been drawn to making things. My grandmother first put a paintbrush in my hand when I was seven, and I never really put it down. After studying graphic design and later earning a master’s in sociology, I found my way back to painting, this time with a deep appreciation for how art connects us—to places, to memory, to something intangible yet deeply familiar.
My work has been featured in numerous juried exhibitions, solo shows, and public art programs, and I am represented by Artworks Gallery in Austin and Turning Art in Boston, MA.

ARTIST STATEMENT
Layering, excavating, and revealing, I create multi-layered paintings that evoke peace and beauty. Guided by memories, moods, and the energy of my color selections, I begin with a loose composition, transforming it through many stages. Balancing intuition and intention, I embrace mark-making while preserving the energy of my first efforts—staying true to what feels most authentic.
